On July 24, we further deepened our relationship with the Tanzanian government when we signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the government through the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOH).

The MOU formally states that the Touch Foundation is aligned with the healthcare goals of the government, and officially pledges the government’s assistance in facilitating our work as we continue our investment at Bugando, and broaden our scope to examine health systems issues in the surrounding Lake Zone region.

Additionally, MOH Permanent Secretary Wilson C. Mukama signed a formal letter of support for Touch, recognizing our direct collaboration with the MOH. The letter highlights our shared interest in health systems solutions for Tanzania and reinforces the Ministry’s full support for our work. As the letter states, “we consider the Touch Foundation to be a full partner with us in our efforts to develop a sustainable, quality health care system for current and future generations in our country.”

We are committed to direct alignment with the health priorities of the Tanzanian government, and we value their recognition and support. The MOU and the Ministry’s letter of support are valuable assets that will facilitate our work to build partnerships for our mission in Tanzania.
