Showing admiration for our efforts and impact thus far, the president writes that our work with  Bugando University College of Health Sciences (BUCHS), “has already shown itself to be valuable…I am 100% supportive of your mission.”

In addition to commending our initial accomplishments in Mwanza, President Kikwete also wrote of his excitement regarding our plans to expand our support to other medical colleges and training institutions throughout the country. Acutely aware of the grave health care needs of his country, to the extent that the Tanzanian government has declared health as one of the top two priorities of its government, President Kikwete also voiced his hope that Touch would continue its work with Tanzania over the long term.

We are grateful for President Kikwete’s unwavering support of our work, and we are honored to be working hand-in-hand with the Tanzanian government as we collectively strive to counter the country’s health care worker crisis.
