The Touch Foundation launched the Who Cares? Campaign to raise awareness about the health worker shortage and mobilize support through creative fundraising activities. The mandate of the campaign is to train 90,000 health workers - doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other professionals - in Tanzania to care for patients in their country and save lives.
The campaign name - Who Cares? - is a double entendre: while more doctors, nurses and other health workers are needed to care for patients in Africa, we also hope that more people globally will devote themselves to this important humanitarian issue. We hope to inspire more people to act to improve health conditions in Tanzania and throughout the developing world.
Please visit the Who Cares? Campaign website to learn more and check out the action packs which outline several ways that you can make a difference today. Consider joining forces with friends, colleagues and family, or develop your own project.
