It is Emmanuel Bahemana's ambition to become a doctor to provide medical care to the poor and sick and bring them comfort and hope for their lives. WBUCHS aims to produce competent doctors to overcome the shortage of medical personnel in Tanzania, and Emmanuel is happy and proud to be part of this institution.
Mwanza, Medical Laboratory Sciences Year 2
Yulitha Barnabas studied laboratory medicine because she wanted to be able to understand and interpret the various diseases that trouble mankind. She hopes to discover laboratory skills in diagnosis, prevention and treatment with the goal of helping those affected by illness and disease. She aspires to achieve excellence in the field of laboratory sciences.
Tabora, MD Year 2
Gerald Charles chose to attend WBUCHS because of its commitment to diligence, discipline and excellence. He looks forward to becoming a doctor in five years because he feels his country needs medical professionals who can serve society. He plans to improve the health sector and society in general by serving the most vulnerable, especially women and children.
Mara, Nursing Year 2
Celina Daudi is studying nursing at WBUCHS so that she can help meet the health needs of her society and provide education to her countrymen. Celina plan to share the knowledge she gains by teaching others about the behaviors and factors that influence overall health and prevent disease.
Mmasi, MD Year 2
Grace Emil joined WBUCHS because of its well-trained lecturers, and because she believes it will help her become a competent and qualified doctor. Grace's specific goal is to help people who live in the villages, the people who tend to face more dire circumstances when they are ill. She is an ambitious woman and hopes to be a positive influence for other women.
Iringa, MD Year 2
Veronika Henry Lyandala has chosen to study the MD course at WBUCHS because this college has strong teachers and facilities compared to other colleges, and she has learned a great deal from her experiences within the connected hospital. She wants to be a doctor so that she can help the people in her country, especially those who live in the villages who lack health education and do not receive good healthcare.
Singida, MD Year 2
Emmanuel Itambu is pursuing a doctor of medicine degree at Weill Medical College of WBUCHS because there are far too few doctors to attend to the many sick patients in Tanzania. He has found the MD program very difficult, but extremely rewarding. He hopes to continue his studies at Bugando and obtain his post graduate degree.
Tabora, MD Year 2
Deusdedit Kalaso decided to pursue the MD course after a visit to the regional hospital when he was in junior high school. He was inspired by the doctors who were treating the patients, but saw that they were very small in number compared to the patients needing treatment. It was then that he decided that he would sacrifice his life to become a doctor and help his society.
Kagera, MD Year 2
Sr. Theresa Karuhanga is studying medicine to become a doctor because the ratio of doctors to the increasing population in Tanzania has created a situation in which each doctor is over burdened with too many patients. She decided to attend WBUCHS because she was inspired by the institution’s commitment to "Discipline, Diligence, and Excellence."

Dina Mahamba is very happy to be studying the MD course at WBUCHS because she wants to help save lives in her country. Her plan for the future is to become a surgeon specializing in cardiovascular diseases (heart surgeon).
Tabora, MD Year 2
President of WBUCHS Student Government, Athumani Mambo is studying medicine because many people in Tanzania die because of the lack of medical doctors, and it has been his dream since he was very young to be a doctor. Athumani chose to study at WBUCHS because it provides a high quality education in a good learning environment, and he is proud to be a student here.
Manyara, Diagnostic Radiography Year 2
Magdalena Margwe wishes to offer her profound thanks to the Touch Foundation for its assistance and financing of the medical students of WBUCHS. Her goal in joining this course was to obtain a diploma in diagnostic radiography in order to diagnose medical problems using radiation. Also, Magdalena decided to join this health course in order build up the status of Tanzania’s health care.
Tabora, Diagnostic Radiography Year 2
Wilfred Edward Mdemwa joined the course in diagnostic radiography because he is compelled to serve the people around the rural area of Tabora where he is from. Willfred chose to attend WBUCHS because it is one of only two colleges in Tanzania that offers a diploma in radiography, and WBUCHS has good staff and a good leaning environment.

President of Tanzania Medical Student Association, TAMSA, Charles Mguta decided to become a doctor more than a decade ago, when Charles witnessed a dying mother who was suffering in a long waiting queue. He is working towards a profession that needs talented and committed people who are devoted to sacrificing for others.
Tanga, MD Year 2
Alfred Mhina chose to study at WBUCHS because it has shown excellence since its inception. He dreams of becoming a doctor so that he can help his fellow Tanzanians who are sick, pass along knowledge to others in the future, and help the country to increase the doctor to patient ratio. Alfred thanks all of you for your effort in helping him and his fellow medical students realize these dreams.

Ever since Hawa Mustapha was a young girl, she admired doctors for their ability to improve others’ health. BMC happens to be the hospital in which she was born, and it also offers some of the best facilities and resources for teaching academics and patient care. Her family and clan have never raised a female doctor – she will be the first! Hawa is also the Secretary General, TAMSA.

George Mwangake is a gentleman aged 30 years old, born and raised in Tanzania. He is a first year student nurse taking a diploma course at WBUCHS. George chose to study to become a nurse to help the communities acquire knowledge and skills for maintaining good health.

Janeth Ndadepu's goal is to become a gynecologist to serve women and help save them from physical and psychological problems.
Nursing 3
Wangare Njoroge joined BUCHS determined to help serve the sick and the needy, and to prepare to help in any emergency that requires first aid. She wishs to join hand-in-hand to work with other healthcare workers to provide quality healthcare to all individuals.
Medical Laboratory Sciences Year 2
Benard Okamo is president of the IAHS student government, and his goal is to become a medical research scientist. He is specifically interested in research studies involving frequently occurring tropical and sub-tropical diseases in Tanzania. Benard joined WBUCHS because of the quality learning environment that it provides. His dream is to obtain a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory sciences in the future.
Mara, Nursing Year 2
Josiah Samwel decided to take the nursing course because he wishes to help people who are sick and keep the healthy feeling well. Also, many Tanzanians see nursing as a profession only for women, so he decided to become a nurse to help eliminate that belief. Once Josiah completes this course, he can help educate people so that we can improve the status of Tanzanian healthcare together.
Mwanza, MD Year 2
The high mortality rate in Tanzania is largely caused by curable diseases such as cholera and malaria, and this has motivated Mgeja Wilson to take this medical training course because there is a lack of trained doctors in the country. WBUCHS is his favorite college and the presence of Bugando Medical Centre enables him as an MD student to gain good clinical experience.
Nursing Year 3
Ever since Tausi Yunge was young, she has dreamed of becoming a nurse. She decided to join WBUCHS because she heard that it creates informed and competent nurses with knowledge in the field of medicine. After completing her studies Tausi will cooperate with her co-workers to help the community with their health problems in order to improve the health status of the county.
