The Touch Foundation works to train skilled health workers – doctors, nurses, and medical technicians – and to strengthen health systems in Tanzania.  Our programs operate simultaneously at the local, regional, and national levels

  • Transforming Weill Bugando into a center of excellence in teaching and health care provision by 2015
  • Launching the Lake Zone Initiative to address fundamental weaknesses in the health system of northern Tanzania
  • Supporting the Tanzanian government’s Twiga Initiative, initially through a national diagnostic identifying obstacles and potential solutions to expand health worker training
